"My experience with Carolina Ortho was no less than top-notch! Just after knee surgery is a scary time and there is much pain. Jason was able to give me peace about the whole process, produced achievable goals, pressed me to do excercises to help strengthen supporting muscles around the knee. He encouraged, and then encouraged some more. Tyler and was great to work with, too, challenging me with creative exercises and reps to help the healing/strengthening process. Christine ensured smooth onboarding and was a pleasant person to interact with throughout my time there. I don’t think it gets any better than what I experienced. "I had the most wonderful experience with this office! As soon as you walk into the office you’re made to feel like you’re at home. You are greeted by Kristy at the front desk who is always very friendly and genuine. My physical therapist was Jason Morgan. Jason was the most patient, supportive and professional person. I am a 55 year old dental hygienist who happened to have and accident and broke my arm. I developed a frozen shoulder and was in severe pain and discomfort. Jason was my therapist for about 4 months of treatment. He was extremely knowledgeable and understanding of my injury and my ability to get better. He guided me throughout challenging exercises and hands on treatment while being personable and competent. He made my workouts fun yet extremely demanding. Spending months together plugging away every important detail, “we” accomplished something that I never thought could happen. I felt that they genuinely cared and listened to how I was feeling, altering the course of treatment to focus on and alleviate pain, while strengthening areas of concern. They also did not abuse my insurance, never maxing out the # of allowed visits; they are not like other hospital-based PT businesses which charge outrageous costs and max out your insurable visits. "After breaking both legs which required a massive external fixator, 5 surgeries, 2 metal plates and a dozen screws, we all knew PT was not going to be easy. It wasn't and I didn't want it to be. After each PT session, I was always tired, usually for the rest of the day. That was fine and taken as progress. I slept well at night. The staff was exceptionally knowledgeable and professional in their assessments and recommendations. Regular adjustments were made to the routine as the degree of my mobility steadily increased. More than any other aspect of the therapy, the key points of each session stuck with me when doing my 'homework.' I'd start to get sloppy or careless with some particular exercise and with no one around, I could instantly hear my therapist (in her subtle but convincing manner) to stand up straight or point my foot forward. When I called, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The therapist very patiently listened and asked a lot of questions about the pain I was experiencing. "I can’t say enough good things about C.O.R.! Aaron is my therapist; he is thorough, listens to what I have to say and adjusts treatment accordingly. Ken did the initial consult to recommend my treatment plan, and he handles the follow-up consults as well. He too is, a good listener, asks the right questions and shows interest in my answers. The treatments for my back worked great! Then we started on my shoulder, but it’s healing too slowly so they advised me to go to my primary care physician again for next-step options. "The individual therapy is wonderful! I had surgery on my right heel almost six months ago, and wondered when the pain would subside. The surgeon said it could take up to a year. "Having had lower back pain for years, not the sort for which surgery is an option (degenerative osteoarthritis with facet disease), my hand was forced to pursue a new therapeutic option once I began having such severe back spasms that I literally could not stand up straight. I asked a physician colleague of mine for a recommendation as to whom to see as to physical therapy, and with no hesitation, he recommended Ken Ellsworth at Carolina Orthopedic Rehab Physical Therapy. It proved to be a great referral, as I experienced phenomenal benefit. Julie at the front desk is an enthusiastic and welcoming presence, a great start. Initial paperwork can be completed on line or at the office. My first encounter consisted of a one hour thorough evaluation by Ken, and based upon his findings, I then proceeded through five PT sessions with his superb therapist Kelly. Each session consisted of several minutes of ultrasound followed by about a half hour of deep message to the affected areas. This was complemented by a set of graduated self-performed home exercises between those five sessions with Kelly. I had to compliment her on her hand strength...I am not sure which of the ingredients was the key to my significant improvement, i.e. the ultrasound, message, or exercise, but the combination yielded much benefit. The plan for me will be continued home exercise, daily for two weeks, then a couple of times as week indefinitely, which I will gladly pursue. Ken made it clear that I would be more than welcome to call at any time if any subsequent questions arise, or should a re-visit be indicated. Long story short, this is a great office with highly skilled and personable staff. As we all get older and stiffer, and arthritis runs rampant with associated compromise of quality of life, I can honestly enthusiastically recommend the services of Ken Ellsworth and staff without any reservation whatsoever."
